IRG Action Fund Presents Representative Nate Gustafson Award for Outstanding Leadership on Telemental Health Bill on Tax Reform
“Champion of Economic Prosperity” awarded to Gustafson for his efforts on telemental health and tax reform this past legislative session
MADISON, WI: Today, IRG Action presented Representative Nate Gustafson (R-Fox Crossing) the ‘Champion of Economic Prosperity’ award in recognition of his work on tax reform and AB541/SB515, the telemental health bill. This award celebrates Gustafson’s work on legislation that would have exempted overtime pay from income taxes and his dedication to improving mental health care access for all Wisconsin residents..
What Happened: This award recognizes Representative Gustafson for taking on Wisconsin’s biggest challenges. At a time when many working families are struggling to afford everyday essentials, Gustafson authored legislation to exempt overtime pay from income taxes – putting more money into family budgets. As Wisconsin’s mental health crisis continues, Gustafson’s bill would have expanded access to care across the state. After successfully getting this bipartisan bill passed in both houses, it was unfortunately vetoed by Governor Evers.
