IRG Action Statement on Passage of Historic Middle-Class Tax Cuts

The budget bill will provide tax cuts for every Wisconsinite.

DELAFIELD, WI – Today, the Senate approved the state budget which will cut taxes in Wisconsin by an astounding $4.4 billion, with $3.5 billion devoted solely to income tax relief. IRG Action Fund CEO, CJ Szafir released this statement in response to the news:

“This historic accomplishment is the largest tax cut in recent memory and will deliver much needed relief to middle class families. By simplifying and cutting the rates, every Wisconsinite will realize income tax relief – an average of $573 per filer.

90% of Wisconsin’s small businesses pay the individual income tax and these businesses employ half of Wisconsin’s workers. This is relief for main street businesses owned by middle class Wisconsinites.”

Late last week, IRG Action launched a petition drive supporting the middle class tax cut included in the state budget bill. Wisconsinites looking to show their support of the tax cut can contact Governor Evers and their lawmakers at IRGAction.com/tax-relief-now/.

“This cut will make us more competitive with our neighboring states and moves Wisconsin in the right direction. Wisconsin needs tax relief and this bill delivers it. I encourage Governor Evers to sign the budget bill and improve the lives of every Wisconsinite across the state.”
