MADISON – Following Governor Evers’ biennial budget address, CJ Szafir, CEO of IRG Action Fund released the following statement:
“Governor Evers’ proposed budget is a waste of time. From a “tax cut” that actually raises taxes more than it cuts, to the same tired efforts to put more people on government health care, too much of it focuses on dramatically expanding the size and scope of government and stands a zero chance of passing the Republican legislature.
“Wisconsin has major problems, to say nothing of the fact that our state ranks last in reading for black students, faces a severe lack of economic mobility, and is experiencing out-of-control crime and drug abuse in our major cities. It’s time for leaders in Madison to focus on real, bipartisan solutions that improve lives and make our state competitive once again.”
